Waterside New Homes for Sale | Lakewood Ranch | lakewoodranchdavid.com
Much like most new construction, there's bits of information all over the place for Waterside. In my role as new home specialist, assisting home buyers for this community, I've been gathering everything I can find, and putting this information in one place in my blog and on my website, lakewoodranchdavid.com.
Four builders are well underway in Waterside, with new homes eventually ringing 20 miles of shoreline over 7 huge lakes. Thankfully, there's more emphasis on coastal themed designs than the typical Mediterranean styles we have seen for a number of years.
The planned 12 neighborhoods have been designed to be walkable to Waterside Place, as well as a planned 8 acre lakefront park. Two communities, Shoreview and Lakehouse Cove, are the first to be under construction and already have a good selection of model homes available. Prices start in the mid $400's and go up to $1.5 million.

Waterside will eventually have over 5100 homes, which will be interwoven with connected trails. Lakehouse Cove will have a resort style ( and by resort, I mean 5 star resort) cluster of a club house, pool, waterfront green spaces, and probable kayak launch. This will link with Waterside Place, which will be a new town center for Lakewood Ranch in addition to Main Street. Shops, restaurants, a waterfront board walk, condos and apartments, office and commercial space, and the future home of The Players Theater, which plans on having 300 events per year. Waterside Place construction is ready to begin soon.

DR Horton and Neal Communities have begun work on two large new home communities east of I-75 off Laurel Road.
Neal is building a 700-home community that will be called "The Villages of Milano". A couple of model homes and what looks to be a sales center seem to be near completion as of this writing. You can see this development on Jacaranda Rd, between Boundary and Laurel Rd.
I've been told that DR Horton is developing a site for 800 homes, with ground being broken just west of the Willow Chase subdivision on the north side of Laurel Rd. It looks like DR Horton will be developing the former Stay N Play RV park and surrounding area.
On top of that, Neal is also planning on a 250 home community further east on Jacaranda at Border Rd called The Woods of Venice.

Sunrise Preserve is coming to Palmer Ranch in Sarasota.
Sales are expected to start first quarter of 2018. The site is quite a bit larger than it appears from Honore Avenue, directly across from The Hamptons.
Sunrise Preserve will compete with nearby Village Walk as a resort style community with full time activities director. There will be a resort style pool and clubhouse, and plenty of sports courts such as tennis, pickle ball, and basketball. Homes will have 2-4 bedrooms with 1593-2623 square feet of living area.
